I could not go without a comment on Rove...
Karl Rove's involvement in the leak is quickly becoming a war in talking points. It is the RNC's tentacles versus a bunch of Democrats who cannot find a cohesive message to save their political lives.
The Center For American Progress has posted a list of the speedily published RNC talking points with a liberal rebuttal. The full text can be found here. I have listed the topic sentences (with my take, of course) for a preview of the things we will all inevitably be hearing over and over and over again.
ROVE TALKING POINT -- NEVER LEAKED AGENT'S NAME
CAP TALKING POINT-- ROVE IDENTIFIED THE AGENT AND KNEW THAT WHAT HE WAS DOING WAS WRONG
Indiana Politico: If I refer to, say, George Tenet's wife, 30 seconds of internet research will produce the name A. Stephanie Glakas-Tenet. But you didn't hear that from me.
ROVE TALKING POINT -- ROVE WAS NOT AFFIRMATIVELY PUSHING THE PLAME STORY
CAP TALKING POINT -- WHITE HOUSE ORCHESTRATED CAMPAIGN AGAINST WILSON
Indiana Politico: The fact remains that the White House, rather than considering FACTUAL EVIDENCE that cast doubt on the pre-determined justification for war, put all of its effort into a campaign to discredit the man behind the evidence...before they even read his report. Only a Bushie would say that an admirable motive for bringing a man's wife into the picture was to discredit his TRUE ASSERTIONS. The "discredit excuse" is a better reason than political retribution, but not as good as, say, "I was drunk and it accidentally slipped out."
ROVE TALKING POINT -- ATTACK JOE WILSON
FACT -- BUSH ADMINISTRATION ADMITTED IT SHOULD NOT HAVE CITED YELLOWCAKE EVIDENCE
Indiana Politico: The person who was CORRECT wins the right to attack the person who was not correct (especially if the incorrect party has done something drastic with bad information...like start a war, for example). When the cards have been shown and the chips have left your pile, it is not the appropriate time to start talking smack to your opponent. Joe Wilson is the victim in this story. Knocking him makes Rove look like a jerk. A scared, suspiciously silent, ultimately doomed jerk.

You'll forgive me for forgetting the persons name, but one of the two people who wrote the very law that it is thought Rove has violated has said that what Rove did was not illegal.
I suppose he would know.
And as the information surrounding this continues to increase it is becoming more and more clear that nothing is there and the Dems are just using this as a way to hurt Bush.
Yes, that is a talking point I forgot to mention. "This is Democrats starting a partisan war." Because for someone to be upset about an administration official leaking a CIA agent's name is partisan, but impeaching a president over a blowjob...that was just looking out for the country.
