Over There

I watched my first episode of the new Fx show Over There tonight. I found it disturbing and compelling. But it left me wondering (as a young woman with no clue what happens in combat) how realistic the show actually is. I do not want to fall into a trap of basing opinions about Iraq on a television show. But I also do not want to dismiss a realistic portrayal as overdramatic drivel. Are there any veterans who have an opinion on this?
